The story
Star Assurance is a comprehensive digital insurance platform designed to transform how customers interact with insurance products. By moving away from manual, paper-based processes, we created a seamless, real-time ecosystem for policy management.
What was breaking
The legacy system suffered from significant latency during peak hours and lacked the ability to scale horizontally. Manual intervention was required for re-processing failed jobs, leading to increased operational costs and data inconsistency.
What I built
Architected a cloud-native event-driven system using Kafka for message queuing and Kubernetes for orchestration. Implemented a dead-letter queue pattern and automated circuit breakers to handle transient failures gracefully.
